1) Is there a prize?
Nope, it’s a fundraiser and not a race!2) When will I receive my information pack?
Information packs will be handed out on the day. Please keep checking the website in the build up to the event for the latest news and information. For those planning to register on the day, spare information packs will be available at the starting point, although the registration fee will be an extra £5 (£15).Your information pack will include:

Confirmation of Transit Details

3) Can I fundraise for any charity?
The Sestran Mega Cycle has two registered charities – Children 1st and Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland and as such we ask that you support either (or both) of these.Please download/print off one of the sponsor forms below. We suggest a minimum of £20 sponsorship and form and money should be sent directly to the charity.

4) Is there transport available and what do I need to do?
Because the route is one way, transport for you and your bike is available from the finish point back to the start before and after the ride. This means you can park your car at either Prestongrange Car Park or Penicuik. Places are limited so book early on Registration Form. (Cost of registration £10 (online, £15 on the day), transport £10, - Children under 16 free.).5) What is the route?
The route travels from Penicuik to Prestongrange, which is thankfully almost entirely downhill and road free! Please consult our route page for more detailed information…Mega Cycle Route Map
6) What time does everything start?
11.00am Prestongrange Car Park. Buses & Trucks begin uplift of riders & bikes for transfer to Penicuik.12.00 noon. Riders start to assemble and register at Penicuik Playing Field.
12.30pm Entertainment begins in Penicuik High Street.
1.00pm Riders enter the official Start area in High Street.
- Official send off for first riders. Others follow over the
next hour. Ride follows Penicuik to Dalkeith path.
- Rest/water available at Rosewell junction. Ride continues on
Path to Dalkeith.
- Dalkeith Palace grounds.
Food & drink available at Stables cafe/bistro
- or bring your own picnic.
Ride continues through Palace grounds, onto R.Esk path,
through Musselburgh, round lagoons to Finish at
Prestongrange.
- Prestongrange Finish Line
with medals, etc, food and drink. Join in free all day festivities of "Art of Production" event
at Prestongrange.
5.30pm Event ends. (Course will be checked)
